IBMC is assisting an established, high-volume distribution and trading enterprise headquartered in Dili, Timor-Leste. The group manages large-scale operations across high-volume FMCG, wholesale, and retail distribution channels. To support their expanding regional business footprint and strengthen financial governance, they are seeking a highly experienced, hands-on Senior Accountant / Finance Manager to relocate and lead their finance operations on-site.
We are seeking a detail-oriented, strategic, and hands-on Senior Accountant / Finance Manager willing to relocate to Dili, Timor-Leste. In this role, you will take full ownership of the end-to-end accounting and finance operations, leading a dedicated local finance team. You will oversee financial reporting under IFRS, local taxation compliance, inventory/COGS accounting, cash flow management, internal controls, and management reporting. This is a key operational leadership role suitable for professionals with a strong background in high-volume industries.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting & General Ledger: Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS; manage GL reconciliations, journal entries, and month/year-end closing procedures.
- Taxation & Compliance: Ensure full compliance with Timor-Leste tax laws, including accurate calculation and timely submission of Income Tax, Services Tax, Withholding Tax, and Payroll Tax.
- Operational Finance Supervision: Oversee Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), payroll processing, fixed assets, bank reconciliations, cash flow, and financial documentation.
- Inventory & COGS Control: Execute stock reconciliations, inventory accounting, and cost of goods sold (COGS) analysis to ensure strict control over high-volume distribution assets.
- Financial Analysis & Budgeting: Analyze P&L, balance sheets, and cash flows; prepare variance analysis, management dashboards, and annual budgeting to support strategic executive decision-making.
- Internal Controls & Audit Management: Maintain internal control frameworks, identify financial risks/discrepancies, prepare schedules for external audits, and implement audit recommendations.
- Team Leadership & Mentorship: Lead, supervise, and mentor the finance team; review daily operational outputs, enforce accuracy, and upskill local staff.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline. Professional qualifications such as CPA, CA, ACCA, or equivalent are a strong advantage.
- Experience: Minimum 7 years of professional accounting/finance experience, with proven tenure in a Senior Accountant, Accounting Supervisor, or Finance Manager role.
- Industry Background: Strong preference for candidates with experience in high-volume operational environments (FMCG, Distribution, Wholesale, Retail, or Manufacturing).
- Technical Mastery: Deep knowledge of IFRS, tax compliance, general ledger, inventory accounting, COGS, and financial analysis (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).
- Systems & Tools: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP/accounting software systems.
- Leadership & Audit Capability: Proven track record in supervising teams, identifying control weaknesses/accounting errors, and coordinating external audits.
- Relocation Readiness: Indonesian citizen fully willing and ready to relocate to Dili, Timor-Leste under a full-time contract.
- Net Basic Salary: USD 1,500 per month (After Tax).
- Monthly Living Allowance: USD 500 per month (for food and electricity).
- Monthly KPI Bonus: Up to USD 500 per month upon achieving operational KPIs.
- Annual Incentives: THR (1-month salary) + Annual KPI Incentive (up to 2 months' salary).
- Family Relocation Support: Full company support to relocate the employee and up to 2 family members (3 people total) to Dili, Timor-Leste.
- Visa Sponsorship: Full company-sponsored visas for the employee and up to 2 family members (valued at ~USD 1,500).
- Accommodation: Free 3-bedroom housing provided by the company for the employee and family.
- Flights & Home Leave: Initial one-way economy flight (Surabaya to Dili) upon hiring, plus annual paid round-trip tickets (Dili–Surabaya–Dili) after 12 months of service.
- Transportation: AIMA electric scooter/bike provided for daily work and personal use, plus access to a company car for weekend personal use.
- Leave & Medical: 12 days Paid Annual Leave, 9 days Paid Sick Leave, and comprehensive medical coverage for work-related injuries and general illnesses.
