English Language ELA Teacher

We are looking for a Middle School English Language Arts Teacher for an international school in Beijing. This is a full-time position starting in August 2027 for the 2027/28 academic year.

About the school

Located in Beijing’s Haidian District, this international school combines the Chinese national curriculum with US Common Core standards in elementary and middle school. Its high school offers US Common Core, AP, IGCSE and A-Level programmes.

Job responsibilities

• Teach English Language Arts to middle school students, developing their reading, writing, speaking and listening skills through engaging lessons.
• Help students build skills in reading comprehension, literary analysis, critical thinking and written expression
• Prepare lesson plans, teaching materials and assessments aligned with the school’s curriculum
• Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and setting clear learning goals
• Work with colleagues to develop teaching resources and strengthen the ELA curriculum
• Communicate regularly with parents and caregivers about students’ progress
• Lead or support extracurricular clubs, enrichment programmes and other assigned activities, with up to three hours of extracurricular involvement
• Create a safe, supportive classroom that encourages participation and a love of learning

• Bachelor’s degree or above in English, English Literature, Education or a related subject
• Recognised teaching qualification
• At least three years of relevant teaching experience
• Strong communication and classroom management skills

Salary and benefits

• Annual salary of RMB 380,000 to 480,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
